Why do we need it?
The industry needs an independent forum in order to:
- Encourage the collation and sharing of activity and incident data to increase awareness, benchmark activity and quantify risks (e.g. against aviation activity), whilst respecting the confidentiality where requested or appropriate
- Share and develop industry best practice for both routine transfer operations and emergency planning
- Support the development of clearer objectives and strategies to improve equipment, services and industry practices
The Marine Transfer Forum is run by a steering group of organisations with complimentary experience that have led in setting industry standards in offshore access. It aims to build a substantial personnel transfer data set, and members will be requested to contribute activity levels and incident data to an independent annual survey.
Who is it for?
Members of the forum are expected to be globally representative of the offshore oil and gas, renewable energy and general marine industries:
- Asset operators
- Vessel operators
- Lifting specialists
- Transfer specialists
- Manufacturers
- Regulatory authorities, trade bodies and industry safety bodies
- Union officials
